Oil on canvas
Courbes Roses is a quiet homage to the forces of nature — a landscape built entirely by hand, from the stretched canvas to the sculpted limestone frame.
Inspired by Margot’s journey through Monument Valley and the Navajo Tribal Park, the piece captures the soft geometry of canyons shaped over centuries by flowing water. Margot shaped Courbes Roses as a meditation on time, earth, and transformation.
Hand-ground pigments swell into muted pinks and mineral tones, layering the surface like sediment. Here, color becomes memory. Form becomes landscape. Each curve echoes the patient, powerful movements that carved the earth itself.
“The landscape transforms with the light, soft rose at dawn, radiant gold at dusk, and I sought to capture that fleeting symphony of color in form.”
